JK Rear Coil Spring Alignment Correction/Retainer
JK Rear Coil Spring Alignment Correction/Retainer

The MetalCloak JK Rear Coil Spring Alignment/Retainer Kit assists the rear coils to compress without bowing by aligning the angle of the lower perch to the angle of the upper coil bucket and keeps the coils secured in place.

Correcting the angle for the rear coils to better match the upper coil bucket location allows a truer inline path. Along with the alignment correction, this kit also keeps the rear coils secure with a coil retainer that bolts on and ensures that the coil stays seated in the lower bucket.

Additional benefits...
While MetalCloak's True Dual Rate Coils are designed so the spring stays in contact at full droop, not all coils are made the same. If you have another aftermarket coil or a custom shock set up that depends on limiting straps or may use the shock as the travel limiter, it is possible for the coil to fall out if one of them breaks unexpectedly. The added spring retainer is just one more safety feature to make sure you are prepared for anything.

These did the trick to straighten the springs, plus it eliminated any spring movement over bumps or extended travel!  I definitely suggest these.

Ok if you going to run long travel shocks with a big lift then these are a must have. These retainers keep your springs at the correct the angle when cycling up and down as well as keep them in place when flexing hard. Not to mention they look great.

Works as advertised January 29, 2017

Small in size, big in benefit. When I installed my 3.5" duroflex kit on my JKU, the rear left track bar bolt was rubbing against the rear spring. Looking at the rear springs from the side with the tires off, you could definitely see bowing. This kit eliminated that and the rubbing.

*note that with my 3.5 kit, I needed to not only disconnect the lower shock bolts and the rear sway bar links, but also undid the brake line relocation brackets and unhooked the rear parking brake lines to get enough droop.

Pre-install is more of a pain than the install. The Installation was super easy. Use a vice grip to get that flag nut all the way back there. Not sure whose dainty fingers can get up in there, but mine couldn't.

Great kit, highly recommended especially if you're doing a lift. Install this before putting in your rear springs and you won’t have to do what I did.
