The Jeep Wrangler YJ was first introduced in 1986 for the '87 model year to replace the venerable Jeep CJ. AMC designed the new Jeep to be lower and wider than the CJ for better handling and on-road comfort.
Featuring the much ridiculed square headlights, the tub of the YJ was virtually identical to the CJ-7 and touts the strongest frame of the Wrangler models.
The YJ is a favorite entry level Jeep due to its low price point compared to classic CJ's and later models.
MetalCloak's second product line was for the Jeep Wrangler YJ. We started with Arched & Overline Fenders, allowing for 33" Tires to run on a YJ with no lift.
We also offer Frame-Built Front Bumpers, Rocker Rails, and Corner Armor to complete your build.
