Nice! December 14, 2016
Reviewer: Justin Wright from Yakima, WA United States
This skid plate is well worth every penny spent. The construction is amazing and at the price point it is far batter than any other oil pan skid on the market.  Also this skid plate is very easy to install took about 10 minutes and I was done. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality oil pan skid plate.

Not as good as it easily could have been September 17, 2016
Reviewer: John Litz from Reno, NV United States
The skid is heavy duty and good quality. The bolt holes in the skid match up perfectly for mounting. The provided bolts were the wrong size so I had to get some new ones. Suggest using a tap on the bolt holes in the engine block before running in the bolts in as mine were full of mud and rust in the threads. I have a 97 TJ which can be slightly different being the first year of TJ's. Besides the bolts I was disappointed that although the steering box skid was painted the oil pan skid was bare metal. Metalcloak should offer this skid in the same black finish as the steering skid. Solved with a rattle can of flat black for $1. It's gonna get beat up on rocks no need for something nice just so it doesn't rust up.

Metalcloak Oil Pan Skid Plate for 4.0L Jeep July 21, 2016
Reviewer: ERVIN RODRIGUEZ from APPLE VALLEY, CA United States
Very well built and designed product as with all Metalcloak  products. Totally strong protection against anything damaging the oil pan, a must have item. My 98 TJ has Borla headers that are at a close proximity along side of the oil pan, so installation was just a little more extensive with more effort involved. Had to remove the starter to slip the skid plate on and exchange an exhaust u- bolt with a stainless flat band type. Also the drivers side engine block bolt hole size took an M12 bolt instead of the M10 Allen bolt provided. Again an excellent product, thanks Metalcloak!

After smashing my old oil pan, Its a no-brainer to get a skid plate. Metal Cloak's Oil pan skid plate is a solid choice. Mounts up really quick as well. I am sure it will hold up fine nest time I go out!

Great build quality, attachment not so much June 15, 2016
Reviewer: Jeff R from Tampa, FL United States
The build quality is excellent with great welds.  The video and instructions are clear, but I had to call customer service to figure out how to mount it on my TJ with the 32rh transmission because the attachment points were simply not listed in either.  The rep I spoke with wasn't sure, and didn't believe that it would only mount using the two small 5/16" grade 5 bolts at the bottom of the bell housing that are used to attach the inspection plate cover.  I emailed a few pictures and quickly received a return call that confirmed those are in fact the only mounting points.  I would have felt more comfortable with the skid attaching to the bell housing via the M10 or M12 grade 10.9 bolts that are used on other transmissions (see page three of the instructions).  Based on this, I've decided not to use this skid and it's currently for sale if anyone is looking for one in the Tampa area.

I would absolutely recommend this skid when mounting to anything other than the 32rh transmission.
